IBM Puts Down the Megaphone to Engage Individuals

IBM Puts Down the Megaphone to Engage Individuals

Q. What are the top three things your customers can do to get started socially? A. Getting started is very simple.
I suggest logging on to Twitter and following your favorite server, rate and review one of the products your company uses, and contribute to a community like developerWorks* (www.ibm.com/developerworks). If rich media is more interesting, you could also publish some photos on Flickr or comment and share videos on YouTube. Most of our products and services websites have our social and community links available. Just start with your favorite site and explore.

Q. What does IBM hope to gain by being social?
A. We expect to be more customer-focused, effective and efficient in every aspect of our business. It’s pervasive as social activity happens everywhere and it’s transformative as social is fundamentally reshaping communications. I know that seems general, but so many benefits accrue from being a social business. It makes you better operationally when you are engaged socially.
