Sponsored Advertising Content: Flexibility and Adaptability in High Availability Solutions

Flexibility, in my opinion, is the key to the future for the disaster recovery and high availability industry. Organizations are being pushed to do more with less, make do with decreased budgets and rely on smaller workforces, which is driving demand for technological solutions to what were formerly labor-intensive projects.

These trends are pushing those of us who are providing these solutions to offer more robust and innovative solutions, such as remote management, cross-platform replication, database transformation and automation of in-house processes, such as target-side backups and daily application management.

More and more companies are seeing the benefit of software-as-a-service solutions or simply leasing space on an existing hosted IBM i instead of going through the expense of obtaining their own secondary box. Therefore, providers and consumers of such solutions are coming up with more full-service, fluid and adaptable solutions and throwing away the one-size-fits-all mentality. “Adapt or perish,” the H.G. Wells adage, applies fully to both sides of this coin.
