OAM is first released, supporting disk “DB2” and IBM 9246 optical libraries in storage hierarchy, and 50 MB object sizes

1991
Support added for IBM 3995 optical library and drives

1994
Storage hierarchy expanded to include tape

1999
OAMplex support introduced

2002
Support added for a second backup copy

2004
Tape expiration support added
OAM gains WORM tape and support for 256 MB object sizes

2005
Support provided for recalling objects to disk

2006
Gains included DB2 BLOB support to disk level, immediate backup support and recycle enhancements

2007
Second tape level introduced to storage hierarchy

2009
Support added for 2000 MB object sizes; archive retention enhanced

2011
Storage hierarchy gained second disk level (file system support)
